One Fine Day Wedding Fair 2016
Claremont Showgrounds Pavillion
I’m not a morning person really. Pre-8am is still crazy time full of sleepy drivers and newspaper deliveries trying to shatter your car window. I will make an exception and that is when there’s something cool like a road trip or a funky wedding expo to be had. We had such a blast at last year’s One Fine Day wedding fair that when we got the chance to sign up again for 2016 we jumped at it.
Patrick took Ron Burgundy in on the Saturday bump-in for setting up but me and Liz Lemon had a wedding booked so we had to make do with an early kick off on Sunday to get to the pavillion in time to clean out the champagne bottles and wipe off the bugs from the previous day.
My God-son Oliver even leant a helping hand on the Sunday. He’s got mild cerebral palsy and is still recovering from a pretty traumatic operation a couple of months ago. We made him a proper embroidered work shirt and he had fun handing out flyers to ‘all the ladies.’ Watching him wheel off across the hall chasing groups of women had me laughing my guts out all afternoon. My apologies to anyone he may have run over in his wheelchair!
One Fine Day has been a pretty successful event for us with bookings both last year and this year. 2015 was our first year of business so we tried to attend as many wedding fair’s as possible and we managed to work out which ones were best for our ‘fit’ of client types. We love the bohemian feel of OFD and the other vendors are fantastic too. We’ve worked opposite a number of them over the last 18 months and they are the nicest people.
I managed to grab some snaps during the fleeting breaks we had chatting during the day and have posted them underneath. Sorry I didn’t manage to get photos of everyone’s beautiful stalls but we look forward to meeting lots of new bridal parties and vendors across the next few months.
